BREAKING: Derek Culver Reinstated, Now What?

Published

on

Late Tuesday afternoon, Bob Huggins and West Virginia university announced that freshman forward Derek Culver has been reinstated after being suspended on November 15th for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

The former four-star recruit has not played a single minute for the Mountaineers this season, but with center/forward Sagaba Konate sidelined with a knee injury and a very unclear answer for when he will return, Culver should get an opportunity to see the floor as soon as Saturday.

At the very least, the 6-foot-10 Culver provides much-need depth in the front-court, relieving the duo of Andrew Gordon and Logan Routt.

Best case scenario, Culver proves to be a formidable rim-protector, rebounder and scorer in the paint, providing a spark for the Mountaineers.

Either way, with the way the season has played out thus far, it’s time we see what Culver can do.

West Virginia returns to action this Saturday against Jacksonville State in Morgantown.
