Over the weekend I spoke with Lewis and he told me that his visit to the Gold-Blue spring game was “amazing”. The last time I spoke with Lewis, which was in late February, he told me that “If I had to say one right now, I would say West Virginia” when asked which schools stood out to him.
His relationship with the coaching staff has continued to build from the last time we spoke when he said, “I love coach Lesley as a coach and a person. I also like the family atmosphere when you’re in the facility.”
He is a very strong edge rusher, but is just as good, if not better at plugging up the run game. He has the ability to fight through double teams consistently and has a great jump off the ball. His explosiveness should help him see some playing time fairly early in Morgantown.
Lewis chose West Virginia over Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State. He becomes the first defensive commit of the 2020 class for the Mountaineers.
