All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.

Sophomore running back Cyncir Bowers transferred to West Virginia in May 2025 after beginning his college career at Iowa Central Community College.

A 5-foot-10, 191 pound back, Bowers racked up more than 1,300 offensive yards during his freshman season and added nearly 500 more on special teams. Even at the junior college level, that performance put him on the map for Power Four programs: he also received an offer from Florida State.

Clocked as running a blazing 4.35 second 40-yard dash, Bowers could headline the Mountaineers’ kick and punt return teams or even earn backup snaps behind presumptive starting tailback Jahiem White.

Last year: Bowers took the junior college route to begin his college career, starring at Iowa Central Community College.

Stats: 1,008 rushing yards at 6.5 yards per carry, 15 total touchdowns, 363 receiving yards, 492 return yards. 

Camp outlook: Bowers joined WVU Football following the spring practice period, but his blazing speed will surely catch eyes during summer workouts.

Projected role: Jahiem White will almost certainly occupy the Mountaineers’ starting job at running back, but Bowers could earn high-end backup snaps in addition to a role on the return teams.

Accolades, highlights: Bowers’ 4.35 second 40-yard dash likely ranks him as the fastest player on the team. For comparison, Mountaineers legend Tavon Austin ran the 40 in 4.34 seconds at the NFL Combine.
