Morris joined the Best Virginia team in 2021 to become the first non-WVU alumni member of the team. Morris fit right into the mix with the rest of the former Mountaineers, helping lead Best Virginia to the Sweet 16 in 2021 and Elite Eight in 2022.
Morris played at Glenville State from 2011-13, before transferring to Fairmont State to finish out his collegiate career from 2013-16. During his senior year for the Fighting Falcons, Morris averaged 13.8 points on 43 percent shooting from the field.
Following his graduation from Fairmont State, Morris went on to play for the Grand Rapids Gold, an NBA G-League team of the Denver Nuggets. Morris has played professional basketball since 2017 playing in Croatia, Poland, France and Germany. Morris played for Lietkabelis in Lithuania this past year, averaging 14.9 points and 3.2 assists.
Best Virginia received the No. 1-seed in the Wheeling regional of the TBT tournament. The regional will take place from July 25-30 at Wesbanco Arena. Best Virginia will take on Dubois Dream in the first round. Herd That (Marshall) and Zoo Crew (Pitt) will play in the first round as well with the winner potentially facing Best Virginia in the next round.
Best Virginia is 6-3 all-time in their TBT history, dating back to 2019. The Basketball Tournament is a 64-team field, which the winning team takes home $1 million.
