Former WVU G Teyvon Myers Continues Pro Career, Joins New Team
Teyvon Myers, former West Virginia guard, signed with King Szczecin of the Polish league, his new club announced earlier in the week. Myers is entering his eighth year of professional basketball.
“This will be my first time in Poland. I heard the league is very competitive. I hope the coming season will bring us a lot of fun. I chose to play in King Szczecin because I have heard only wonderful things about this club,” Myers said per the club. “Lastly, I would like to tell the fans from Szczecin that I am very grateful to be able to play in your club. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the King fans, you have great energy, you are very loyal. With your help we will try to create an unconquerable fortress in Szczecin.”
Myers was the leading scorer in the country while playing in Junior College prior to his days at West Virginia. In 2015, Myers made the jump to Division-I basketball to play under Bob Huggins. Myers was a part of the “Press Virginia” teams, contributing to the Mountaineers Sweet-16 run in 2017.
Following his senior year, Myers has played international basketball since 2018. The Brooklyn native started out in Sweden where he averaged 17.8 points per game in his rookie season. Myers went on to playing in Germany and France before playing for Sopron KC in Hungary. In the 2022-23 season, Myers averaged 14.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists for FC Porto in Portugal.
Most recently, Myers played in Turkey for TED Kolejliler, averaging 19.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Myers has also played for Best Virginia in the TBT the past few summers. The 6-foot-2 guard recorded the most assists in a TBT game, 13, since 2014. Myers and Best Virginia were eliminated in the second round of the Pittsburgh regional, falling to Zoo Crew, Pitt’s alumni team.
