Former WVU basketball guard Treysen Eaglestaff has found a new home for his final year of eligibility, as first reported by Jeff Goodman.

Eaglestaff has committed to UC San Diego.

Eaglestaff leaves after just one year with WVU, averaging 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. His decision comes on light of a preliminary injunction being granted to high school class of 2022 athletes, giving them an extra year of eligibility.

Eaglestaffโ€™s lone season was less than many Mountaineer fans expected, as he averaged 18.9 points per game in his final season with North Dakota.ย His best performances at WVU came against Xavier, Mississippi Valley State and Arizona State, where he scored 23 points in each game.

WVU basketball has one remaining roster spot for the 2026-27 season.

Best of luck Treysen and thank you for being a Mountaineer, if only for a year…
