Future Mountaineer Makes Watch List for Prestigious Award

Published

on

Founded in 1985, the Butkus Award is awarded to the country’s best linebacker in college football.

Unfortunately, no West Virginia player is on the list this year, HOWEVER, the selection committee does release a watch list for the top high school linebackers and that is where you will find a future Mountaineer.

That player is Lanell Carr.

Carr is an outside linebacker from St. Louis, MO and is part of the 2020 recruiting class. He committed to West Virginia on June 14, 2019 after receiving offers from Missouri, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Kansas, and many more.
