Grier a One-And-Done?

Amidst his inspiring reintroduction to college football, Will Grier has captured the attention of not only Mountaineers fans but also football fans across the country, including NFL scouts.

It may be considered a premature assumption, but it’s time for West Virginia fans to face reality and come to accept that Grier will enter the 2018 NFL Draft.

West Virginia loyalists were all overly excited and anxious with the arrival of former Florida Gator Will Grier. A mixture of his recent successes, the players returning and the incoming freshman had fans dreaming of victories to come next season, let alone in 2017.

Unfortunately, that dream may amount to nothing more than just that.

It’s a very possible scenario. Grier is a very talented quarterback who is starting to raise eyebrows and starting to raise his own draft stock. And despite being nearly two years removed from playing a meaningful snap, Grier has been mentioned as one of the best quarterbacks in the Big XII. Through five weeks, Grier is No. 17 in the country in total passing yards (1,374), No. 9 in QBR (171.1) and No. 7 in touchdown passes with 13. Add in the recent struggles from some of the other draft eligible signal callers, Grier may find no better time than the present to enter his name into the hat.

Regardless where Grier ends up in 2018, enjoy what he is able to do this season. After all, it may not last.
