Incoming Two-Sport Athlete Chosen in MLB Draft

Published

on

Incoming freshman Terence Doston was selected in the twenty-second round of the MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers. Doston was a two-sport standout in high school and was expected to play both football and baseball for the Mountaineers.

Doston attended Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida where he was a wide receiver in football and center fielder in baseball. Hillsborough has an outstanding track record of producing baseball players like Doc Gooden and Gary Sheffield. His elite speed was key to his high school success and important to his recruitment in both sports.

Terence Doston was rated as a three-star football recruit and was named preseason Florida All-Region by Perfect Game. While his multi-sport skills would be valuable to WVU, it remains to be seen whether or not he will ever set foot on campus. It is currently unknown if he plans to sign with the Brewers organization.
