Jackson Wolf Leads 5 Mountaineers on All-Big 12 Baseball Teams

Five West Virginia Mountaineers have received All-Big 12 post-season honors, the conference announced Monday afternoon. Pitchers Jackson Wolf and Ben Hampton, catcher Paul McIntosh, outfielder Austin Davis and infielder Mikey Kluska were named to All-Big 12 teams.

Wolf, a senior lefty, was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team after going 5-5 with a 3.26 ERA this season. He led the Mountaineers with 13 starts, 80 innings pitched and 97 strikeouts.

McIntosh, a senior, and Davis, a junior, were bother named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention. McIntosh hit .270 this season playing catcher and left field and tied for the team lead in home runs (eight) and RBI (26). Davis, the team’s right fielder, led the Mountaineers with a .317 batting average with 10 extra-base hits, 16 steals and 26 runs scored.

Finally, Kluska and Hampton were named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team. Kluska hit .242 across 41 games with four home runs and 24 RBI. He had two walk-off hits this season. Hampton, a left-hander, went 4-3 with a 4.96 ERA in 10 starts. He struck out 43 batters in 49 innings.

WVU will begin postseason play Tuesday with the Big 12 Tournament play-in game against Kansas at 7 p.m. against Kansas in Oklahoma City.
