Jam Packed Pat McAfee Show at WVU Serves as Tribute to Past, Promise of Future
Morgantown, W.Va. is the most electric place in the country this weekend, and that’s in large part due to Pat McAfee hosting his show live on the campus of West Virginia University. And this special “Feel Good Friday” edition of his show served as a Mountaineer party ahead of the WVU’s season opening game against Penn State on Saturday afternoon.
“The Pat McAfee Show” included WVU legends Pat White and Owen Schmitt as co-hosts and a jam packed lineup of guests, highlighted by WVU head coach Neal Brown, quarterback Garrett Greene, former WVU basketballs star and current New York Knick Miles “Deuce” McBride, West Virginia native and legendary college football coach Nick Saban among others.
And after McAfee arrived to a rocking ovation with a crowd of students packed around his stage at the WVU Life Sciences Building, the show labeled with the #WVUPMSLIVE kicked off.
For some highlights, Greene rocked a “Neal Breezy” shirt to show his head coach some love, Brown brought gifts of gear and Country Roads Trust lager and bourbon for the whole crew, McBride hit a shot to win a student free tuition and White and Saban reflected on when one of the greatest players in program history initially committed to him before flipping to West Virginia.

Saban even told White he wouldn’t have changed his position from quarterback to defensive back, which was White’s concern and why he decided to go to WVU instead.
We are all VERY thankful that Pat White ended up at West Virginia..

The seven-time national champion head coach also praised West Virginia fans and the environment Penn State will experience.
“Morgantown is a hard place to play and the fans there have great passion. It’s gonna be very difficult for Penn State especially because it’s the opener,” said Saban.
McAfee closed the show by announcing a big donation to WVU’s NIL collective Country Roads Trust.
“I will be donating $1M to the West Virginia NIL Collective from the entire team I played alongside.”
