JJ Quinerly did what WVU fans grew accustomed to in the WNBA on Saturday night. The former Mountaineer led her team in scoring with a new career-high 15 points.

In her first start of the season, Quinerly shot 4-for-6 from the field in 32 minutes while also adding four rebounds and four assists to fully take advantage of the opportunity.

Thanks in large part to Quinerly, the Dallas Wings managed to win for only the fifth time all season. Dallas beat the Washington Mystics 79-71 after jumping out to a 28-9 lead after the first quarter.

Quinerly is shooting 42.2% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point range so far during her rookie season.

Dallas drafted Quinerly with the 27th overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft in April.

Quinerly will go down as one of the greatest players in WVU womenโ€™s basketball history. Staying with the Mountaineers through three different head coaches, Quinerly led the team to three NCAA Tournament appearances while racking up three All-Big 12 first-team selections, back-to-backย Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Awardsย and twoย All-American honorable mentions. She finished her WVU career in theย top three of all-time career pointsย and steals.

The Virginia native averaged a career-high 20.4 points this season with 3.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game. She scored double-digit points in all but one game this season, reaching 20 points 14 times and 30 points three times. She matched the program record for single-game scoring with 38 points on Senior Day against Utah.

Quinerly led WVU to a 25-8 record this season, making it to the semifinal round of the Big 12 Tournament. The Mountaineer earned a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament and defeated Columbia in the opening round before falling to North Carolina.
