WVU women’s basketball star JJ Quinerly has been named an All-American Honorable Mention by the Associated Press.

Released Wednesday, the AP included Quinerly as an All-American Honorable Mention for the second year in a row.

This is yet another accolade for the senior shooting guard this season, as she was already named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and was a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 First Team and the All-Big 12 Defensive Team.

Quinerly leads the Mountaineers in scoring this season, averaging 20.6 points per game. She also averages 3.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.9 steals while shooting 44.8% from the floor and 32.2% from three.

Quinerly has scored double-digit points in all 30 games she’s played this season, reaching 20 points 15 times and 30 points three times.

She saved her best for last, matching the WVU single-game scoring record with a career-best 38 points in the Mountaineersโ€™ final home gameย against Utah. She followed that up with 31 points in the regular season finaleย at Cincinnatiย and was named theย Big 12 Player of the Week.

JJ Quinerly and the Mountaineers now turn their attention to the NCAA Tournament, where they are a No. 6 seed in the Birmingham Regional. WVU will play its first-round game Saturday at 2 p.m. (ESPNews) against the winner of the play-in game between No. 11 seeds Columbia and Washington.
