The last XFL season ended with Leddie Brown running all over the competition and leading his team to a championship. And now the new UFL will now start with Brown back on the Arlington Renegades and going for another title.

Brown’s new deal to continue on as part of the UFL was announced by the league on Friday.

After starting off the 2023 season failing to make the final roster of one XFL team, ironically coached by another former Mountaineer, Brown closed that year off by scoring two touchdowns in the XFL Championship Game. The WVU product found the end zone as both a receiver and on the ground for the Renegades.

Brown actually became the first and only player to score a receiving and rushing touchdown in the same XFL game throughout the entire 2023 season.

Overall, the 24-year-old Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native accounted for 75 total yards in the game. He ran for 32 yards off nine carries and also caught two balls for 43 yards, including taking a short reception 30 yards for a score.

Brown, who was unable to find NFL success during his stint with the Los Angeles Chargers after going undrafted in 2022, was at least able to finally show what he can do in the XFL.

Will this performance open up any NFL eyes to give Brown another opportunity? Only time will tell. But no matter what happens, one thing is clear – Leddie Brown is an XFL champion.

Brown talked about continuing to chase his professional football dreams for his late father while being interviewed during the game.
