Miles McBride, former WVU and current New York Knicks guard, upped his career high in points for a second straight game on Monday afternoon. McBride recorded 20 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field in a 98-94 loss to the Orlando Magic. McBride also hit 4-threes in 36 minutes of play.

This performance from McBride follows a 19-point effort vs. the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.

McBride recently signed a $13 million extension with the Knicks over the next three years. The Knicks traded away RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley to the Toronto Raptors in late December, creating more playing time for McBride.

McBride is averaging 4.5 points through 27 games while averaging 9.3 minutes per contest.

McBride saw more opportunities during his second year in the NBA with the Knicks. McBride appeared in 64 games during the 2022-23 season. McBride averaged 3.5 points and 1.1 assists last season. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native shot 36 percent from the field. The Knicks picked up McBride’s team option before NBA free agency began this past offseason.

McBride played two seasons at West Virginia from 2019-21, leading the Mountaineers to an NCAA Tournament appearance during his sophomore year. McBride averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
