WVU HC Neal Brown Explains Why Wyatt Milum Missed Second Half
WVU OL Wyatt Milum missed the second half of the Penn State game on Saturday due to cramps, according to head coach Neal Brown. Here’s Brown full quote during his opening statement following the loss.
“Wyatt Milum, who didn’t play in the second half [due to] cramps and just some really, really bad stuff,” Brown said. “He played extremely well and I hope the pro personnel people watch his first half. He played extremely well but he didn’t get to play in the second half and that hurt us.”
“He locked up, we tried everything,” Brown added.
Brown continued to preach about Milum’s preparation and how he’s taking care of his body.
West Virginia fell to No. 8 Penn State 34-12 in the season-opening game, which was just an odd day overall. At halftime, the two teams took an extended break of over two hours due to a weather delay. The Nittany Lions were up 20-6 after the first two quarters and didn’t skip a beat during the second half with a great run game.
West Virginia’s offensive line is entering a season without Zach Frazier and Doug Nester, who are now playing professionally. Redshirt senior Brandon Yates is taking over Frazier’s duties full-time as the center. WVU QB Garrett Greene was sacked twice in the loss.
Milum is entering his senior year with the Mountaineers where he’s receiving NFL draft hype.
