As players across the country, and the world, have been signing their national letter of intent today to play for West Virginia football, WVU coach Neal Brown has been posting videos on his Twitter account addressing each signee. Here is what the Mountaineer coach had to say to each new recruit:

OL Wyatt Milum (6-foot-7, 280 pounds) – Kenova, West Virginia

“Priority from day number one here is keeping the best players in the state of West Virginia here in West Virginia. We did that today. We appreciate your faith in us. At the time you committed, right before the pandemic hit, you were the highest-rated recruit in West Virginia history.”

DB Andrew Wilson-Lamp (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) – Massillon, Ohio

“You were the first commit in this class and we won’t forget that. You represent us getting back into the state of Ohio. You’re one of five guys today that are going to sign from the state of Ohio, but you were the first to commit and believe in us and we appreciate that.”

TE Victor Wikstrom (6-foot-5, 251 pounds) – Uppsala, Sweden

“It’s been a long journey, over a year ago you came to camp. As you went through camp -whether it was agility drills, tight end drills – you really stood out. Over 6’4″, over 240 pounds, ran in the 4.6s. We’re looking forward to adding you to our tight end room, you’re a guy that’s going to have a unique skill set and make an impact in our program.”

BAN Ja’Corey Hammett (6-foot-2, 205 pounds) – Miami, Florida

“From South Florida to Almost Heaven West Virginia. Excited for you to bring that championship pedigree from Northwestern High School up here to West Virginia. You’re going to be a great pass rusher here in the Big 12.”

DL Edward Vesterinen (6-foot-4, 270 pounds) – Helsinki, Finland

“All the way from Finland, welcome home to West Virginia. Can’t wait to get you here. Looking forward to you being the next international star here at West Virginia.”

OL Tomas Rimac (6-foot-6, 275 pounds) – Brunswick, Ohio

“I think you’re the sleeper in this class, another Ohio product. We’re going to build this program through the interior offensive and defensive line and we think you’re one of the top offensive linemen in the country and look forward to coaching you.”

TE Treylan Davis (6-foot-5, 240 pounds) – Jackson, Ohio

“[Strength and conditioning coach Mike Joseph] is going to pour into you just like every coach is going to pour into you. There’s no doubt you’re going to be a huge piece to the championship program that we’re building.”

DB Aubrey Burks (5-foot-11, 200 pounds) – Auburndale, Florida

“Welcome to one of the top defensive programs in the entire country. We established ourselves this year in almost every single statistical category and we were looking for a versatile defender that could bring a physical approach to the game of football and you’re that guy.”

ATH Davis Mallinger (6-foot-2, 180 pounds) – West Melbourne, Florida

“Congrats on making West Virginia your new home…You’re the fastest guy we’re signing today and I can’t wait to coach you.”

QB Will “Goose” Crowder (6-foot-3, 190 pounds) – Gardendale, Alabama

“Welcome to a very special fraternity here at West Virginia. West Virginia has a deep history at the quarterback position. We wanted to welcome you, we’re excited about your skillset and what you’re going to bring to the quarterback position in the future of our program.”

WR Kaden Prather (6-foot-4, 200 pounds) – Montgomery Village, Maryland

“You’re going to be the next great wide receiver here at West Virginia. We have a long history of great offenses, great wide receiver play, you’re the next guy. We appreciate you and your faith in what we’re building here and you’re a huge piece to this puzzle.”

DL Brayden Dudley (6-foot-3, 260 pounds) – Wylie, Texas

“Going to be a guy who’s got huge growth potential and is going to be a great player along the defensive line.”

DL Hammond Russell IV (6-foot-4, 255 pounds) – Dublin, Ohio

“We’re going to develop you into one of the top defensive linemen in the Big 12 conference. We appreciate you, one of the guys who committed the earliest in this class, really been a vocal piece throughout.”

DB Saint McLeod (5-foot-11, 205 pounds) – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

“Another baller from Imhotep, the same high school as Tykee Smith. A guy that has a lot of those same intangibles that Tykee has. Great player on the field, he’s versatile, can cover, physical, can tackle, going to be a factor in the return game as well. Also can get the job done in the classroom.”

RB Justin Johnson (6-foot, 200 pounds) – Edwardsville, Illinois

“Today you join a great tradition of running backs here at West Virginia football. We believe you are one of the next great combination of speed and power. Your balance is what makes you elite, [running back coach] Chad Scott and I can’t wait to coach you.”
