WVU Football RB CJ Donaldson and CB Jacolby Spells have committed to Country Roads Trust, the University’s NIL collective. Donaldson and Spells are both heading into their junior seasons in 2024.

Donaldson recorded 798 rushing yards with 11 touchdowns during his sophomore campaign. Donaldson scored in nine straight games during the 2023 season. Donaldson will join a young and talented running back group with Jahiem White, who had nearly 1,000 scrimmage yards as a true freshman.

Spells appeared in 12 games for the Mountaineers during the 2023 season. The Fort Lauderdale, Fl. native had eight total tackles and a pass deflection this past season. Spells’ sole interceptions with WVU occurred during the Virginia Tech game his freshman year, where he returned it for a touchdown.

Country Roads Trust was founded in January 2022, one of the country’s first NIL collectives at the NCAA Division-I level. CRT was created by Oliver Luck and Ken Kendrick, and currently has an advisory team highlighted by Jerry West, Pat White, Don Nehlen, Darryl Talley and other WVU greats.
