After this upcoming basketball season, the Big 12 will move to 16 teams after Texas and Oklahoma depart to the SEC. Currently the Big 12 welcomes BYU, UCF, Cincinnati and Houston to the conference and will bring Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah in the summer of 2024.
The Big 12 currently plays an 18-game schedule and shifts away from the double round robin format this season. Each team will play each other once and play five teams twice.
