Run it Back: Best Virginia, Herd That to Host TBT Regional in 2022

The Basketball Tournament, known as TBT, announced on Wednesday that Best Virginia, WVU’s alumni team, will host the Charleston, W.Va. regional for the 2022 TBT.

Best Virginia will share the hosting duties with Marshall’s alumni team, Herd That, at Charleston Civic Center from July 24-27, 2022.

Last tournament, Best Virginia made their second appearance in the TBT, the first being in 2019. The former Mountaineers made a trip to the Sweet 16 before losing to Team 23, the eventual runner-ups of the tournament.

Former WVU forward John Flowers (2007-11) was the general manger of Best Virginia, bringing along James Long (2013-17) to serve as head coach, Da’Sean Butler (2006-10) and Morgantown High School’s Dave Tallman as assistants.
