MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – On senior day at the WVU Coliseum, seven Mountaineers were honored before Saturday’s game against TCU.

Taz Sherman, Gabe Osabuohien, Malik Curry, Dimon Carrigan and Pauly Paulicap were the fifth-year seniors honored. Sean McNeil and Kedrian “Keddy” Johnson were honored as traditional four-year seniors. McNeil and Johnson will have the option to return to West Virginia for the 2022-23 season.

Sherman, Osabuohien and McNeil all spent three seasons at West Virginia, recording 54 wins as a group. The trio helped lead the Mountaineers to a 3-seed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. On Feb. 21, Sherman became the 55th Mountaineer to record 1,000-career points. Sherman raised his point per game average over his three seasons averaging 5.3 points his junior year, 13.6 points his senior year and 18.1 so far in his fifth-year. The 6-foot-4 guard is shooting 41 percent from the field in his career.

Osabuohien will always be remembered as the “glue guy.” The Canadian native transferred to West Virginia after two seasons at Arkansas and fit right into a Bob Huggins player. McNeil recorded 151-career threes at WVU, accumulating 866 points in three seasons. Johnson has played two seasons at West Virginia, starting his senior year. The Dallas native is averaging 1.7 steals through 29 games.

Curry, Carrigan and Paulicap all came into the program last April as grad transfers and have fit into their respective roles this season. Curry is averaging 9.2 points on 45 percent shooting this season. Carrigan is second in the Big 12 Conference in blocks with 32. Paulicap is averaging 3.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.8 blocks through 30 games.
