The Mountaineers have seen a lot of success on the field in 2018, as has senior wide receiver David Sills V.

After bursting onto the scene in 2017, Sills has continued his success from a year ago becoming one of the nations top receivers. In 2017, Sills caught 60 balls for 980 yards and hauled in a nation leading 18 touchdowns. He was named a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which goes to the best receiver in the country and finished 2nd in the voting behind fellow Big 12 receiver James Washington of Oklahoma State.

Thr Grier to Sills connection has continued to be problems for opposing teams in 2018. Through the first nine games of the season he has reeled in 49 receptions for 697 yards and 12 touchdowns. Earlier this year, he passed Tavon Austin for the 2nd most touchdown receptions in school history, now only trailing Stedman Bailey, who finished his career with 41 touchdowns. Sills needs nine more to tie and ten more to break the record with potentially only three games left.

Sills V has been once again named a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award along with J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (Stanford), A.J. Brown (Ole Miss), Marquise Brown (Oklahoma), N’keal Henry (Arizona St), Andy Isabella (UMass), Jerry Jeudy (Alabama), Rondale Moore (Purdue), John Ursua (Hawaii), Tylan Wallace (Oklahoma St), and Antoine Wesley (Texas Tech).
