Son of WVU Great Kevin Pittsnogle Makes His College Decision

Kwynsie Pittsnogle, the son of WVU basketball great Kevin Pittsnogle, announced his college plans on social media Tuesday afternoon.
The younger Pittsnogle played high school basketball in state at Hedgesville and spent the last season at 212 Sports Academy in Florida. On Tuesday, he announced his commitment to Division II Lees-McRae College in North Carolina. He also had offers from West Virginia Wesleyan College and New College of Florida.
“Go out there with a chip on your shoulder and something to prove,” his father wrote when sharing the news on social media. “For all those that walked away when they had the chance make them regret it. You keep growing and working hard and many will look back and wish they made different decisions.”

Kevin Pittsnogle came to WVU from his hometown Martinsburg and made an immediate impact with the Mountaineers. The 6-11 center averaged double-digit points for his entire four-year career, topping out with 19.3 points per game while earning first-team All-Big East honors as a senior in 2006.
He was ahead of his time as a stretch forward, shooting 41.1% from three for his career with 253 made three-pointers. He still ranks ninth all-time in career scoring (1,708 points) and second in three-pointers (253) in WVU history.
For a related story, Mike Asti argued that Kevin Pittsnogle deserves more respect from WVU fans.
