Source: WVU Contacts Memphis Transfer Big Malcolm Dandridge

West Virginia’s staff has contacted Memphis transfer Malcolm Dandridge in the portal, a source tells WV Sports Now. Dandridge is a 6-foot-9 big with one year of eligibility left.

Dandridge has played four years at Memphis under Penny Hardaway, committing from the class of 2019 as a four-star prospect. Dandridge appeared in 20 games this past season averaging 5.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 14.5 minutes per game. Dandridge shot 58 percent from the field.

Since entering the transfer portal on May 10, Dandridge has been in contact with Auburn, Austin Peay, BYU, Cal, Kansas, Kansas State, LSU, Penn State, Saint Louis, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, South Florida, UT-Arlington, UCF, Western Kentucky and others.

The Mountaineers currently have eight players on roster as of July 6 with five spots to fill: RaeQuan Battle (G), Jesse Edwards (C), Josiah Harris (F), Kobe Johnson (G), Kerr Kriisa (G), Omar Silverio (G), Patrick Suemnick (F) and Seth Wilson (G).

West Virginia will host Florida State transfer guard Jeremiah Bembry for a visit beginning on Friday. Bembry was medically redshirted during the 2022-23 season and entered the transfer portal after his freshman year. Bembry is a former three-star prospect and has four years of eligibility remaining.
