Watch: Joe Mazzulla Admits Lack of Discipline Doomed Celtics in ECF Loss to Heat

Things aren’t looking good for Joe Mazzulla and the Boston Celtics following their loss in game two of Eastern Conference Finals.
Jimmy Butler did what he’s been doing all postseason long and led the Heat to a win thanks to a big fourth quarter. Miami outscored Boston 36-22 in the fourth quarter, winning the game 111-105.
After the game, Mazzulla answered some of the questions on the minds of viewers everywhere. For starters, Mazzulla admitted his team was not disciplined enough and that was a factor in the loss.
"It comes down to the details and the margins… There was times throughout the game where we weren't the more disciplined team."

Mazzulla elaborated more on what went wrong for the Celtics. “I mean if you have turnovers and offensive fouls, you’re clearly not making the right play,” he added.

He also defended Grant Williams for getting in Butler’s face and igniting the Heat star. “He didn’t do anything wrong, necessarily, so I don’t think it’s emotions getting the best of him,” said Mazzulla.

Even though it’s always nice to see a head coach take the blame after a bad loss, the question about what Mazzulla is doing with all the timeouts he’s not calling during games remains unanswered.
