Waiting for the right situation, Rasul Douglas found a new NFL team on Monday. The WVU product agreed to a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders, as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Douglas, who spent the 2025 season with the Miami Dolphins, will now return to the NFC East, where he started his career with the Philadelphia Eagles. His latest contract is worth up to $3.8 million, an increase from the $3 million he signed for one year ago.

Douglas, 31, started all 13 games for Miami, registering 62 total tackles with 37 credited as solo, 13 pass deflections, two interceptions and one sack and forced fumble.

In nine NFL seasons, Douglas has made 503 tackles, 393 on his own, picked off 21 passes and recorded three sacks, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Drafted by the Eagles in the third round in 2017, Douglas spent time with Philadelphia, the Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills and Dolphins before joining Washington. He was a member of the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII winning team as a rookie.
