The 5th seeded West Virginia Mountaineers (24-10) will see the 12th seeded Murray State Racers (26-5) during the second round of the NCAA Tournament in San Diego, California on Friday.

This is the fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance for the Mountaineers and the 29th appearance overall. It’s the 15th appearance for the Racers and the first time they have made the tournament since 2012.

West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins has now taken the West Virginia Basketball program to the NCAA Tournament nine of his 11 seasons in Morgantown and his 10th post season tournament.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

The Mountaineers were in at large bid while Murray State won the Ohio Valley Conference.
