It’s never easy putting any recruiting class together, but the difficulty increases exponentially without a head coach. But even under extremely difficult and uncertain circumstances, the remaining WVU football staff managed to have success on Wednesday’s December Early National Signing Day.

And based on retaining most of the committed players and even sprinkling in a couple surprise flips, the staff, and that includes coaches all the way down to anyone who works directly in recruiting or holds any support position at all, has been receiving praise for their hard work.

During his Tuesday press conference to discuss West Virginia’s coaching search, WVU director of athletics Wren Baker even publicly said that all he asks of anyone left on Neal Brown’s staff is they do right by WVU while employed by WVU. If they do that, he told them he will then do right by them. Clearly, Baker feels they did right by the school as far as locking in a solid 2025 class.

But Baker is far from the only person recognizing what the staff pulled off only a few days removed from Brown’s firing on Sunday evening.

The messages below show just some of the positive reaction from both fans and fellow media.
