** West Virginia football offered 2023 three-star athlete Micah Mays Jr. (6-foot-2, 175 pounds) on Tuesday. Mays (North Palm Beach, Florida) plays both the wide receiver and cornerback positions in high school. He currently has 21 offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Boston College, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Duke, Eastern Michigan, Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern, Grambling State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kent State, NC State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee State, USF and West Virginia. For what it’s worth, 247Sports is projecting him to sign with Wake Forest.

** West Virginia football offered 2024 wide receiver Alex Taylor (6-foot-2, 175 pounds) on Tuesday. Taylor (Grimsley, North Carolina) has offers from Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, NC State, Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest in addition to West Virginia.

** The West Virginia football coaching staff is trying a personal touch with 2023 recruit Layth Ghannam (6-foot-5, 280 pound). The offensive lineman from Charleston, West Virginia received hand-written letters from every coach on the school’s staff. He has seven offers thus far from Appalachian State, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Marshall, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

** West Virginia football offered three-sport athlete Traylon Ray (6-foot-2, 180 pounds) yesterday. Ray (Tallahassee, Florida) plays football, basketball and baseball at North Florida Christian. He is a three-star football recruit and plays both wide receiver and defensive back in football, though most sites list him as a wide receiver recruit. West Virginia is his 10th offer, as they join Coastal Carolina, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Massachusetts, Miami, Mississippi State, UCF, USF and Virginia Tech.
