West Virginia has been after in-state star combo guard Isaac McKneely for a while now, and on Sunday the standout Poca junior listed the Mountaineers among his final eight schools.

That’s the good news for WVU. The bad — West Virginia and Bob Huggins will be going up against some stiff competition for the 247Sports 4-star recruit who is listed as the No. 1 player in the Mountain State for the Class of 2022 and the No. 10 combo guard in the country in his class.

In addition to the Mountaineers, McKneely listed Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, Louisville, Indiana, Purdue and Illinois among his finalists.
