Despite knowing Kole Taylor, a transfer addition from last year, will be back next season, the WVU football program is still looking to bolster the tight end position even more.

West Virginia sent Michigan State transfer Maliq Carr his first offer since he entered the Transfer Portal on Saturday. Even though WVU is the only offer Carr has revealed publicly on social media, it’s widely reported he’s heard from many other schools.

Like Taylor, Carr would offer the Mountaineers another opportunity to use the tight end position in the passing game.

In 10 games, the redshirt junior caught 30 balls for 352 yards and scored three touchdowns as he became one of the Spartan’s top weapons for a struggling offense.

Before joining Michigan State, Carr spent a season with Purdue. He redshirted his only year as a Boilermaker before transferring to Michigan State in 2021. He 54 receptions for 696 yards and five touchdowns in his college career so far.

You can find Carr and other transfer players listed on our partner the Portal Report’s database.
