WVU Football Offers 2026 QB Prospect Garnering Attention from Major Programs
Even though the Mountaineers feel secure right now with Garrett Greene under center, the WVU football staff knows he won’t be around forever and they need to start planning for the future of the quarterback position. To that end, West Virginia extended an offer to a 2026 prospect already garnering tons of attention.
Dereon Coleman (6-foot-1, 160 pounds), who attends Jones High School in Orlando, Fla., revealed he can now add WVU to his long list of offers on Tuesday night.

In addition to the schools among the Power 4 conferences, FAU, Marshall, UNLV and USF are in the early mix for Coleman. Classified as a pro style quarterback, Coleman is projected to stay in Florida at USF by multiple national recruiting outlets, granted he still has two seasons left of high school football.
