WVU Football Showing Interest in Big 12 RB Who Started Career at Ohio State
As the WVU football staff continues reaching out to transfer players, there’s a Big 12 player at a key position that fans need to keep an eye on. WV Sports Now has learned that the Mountaineers are interested in Cincinnati transfer running back Evan Pryor.
A popular running back since the transfer portal opened, Pryor is expected to visit West Virginia in the coming days after wrapping up a trip to Florida for meet with the Gators.
Listed at 5-foot-9 and 195 pounds, Pryor spent the past two seasons with the Bearcats after beginning his career at Ohio State. In 2025, Pryor ran for 522 yards on 76 carries. He 418 with an average of 7.5 yards per touch in 2024.
The North Carolina native inertially picked the Buckeyes out of high school over prominent offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Wisconsin and others.
Pryor saw limited playing time with Ohio State, only accumulating 147 yards and one score in two seasons.
With Cincinnati, he rushed for a combined for 940 yards and nine touchdowns on 132 carries and also brought in 25 receptions for 288 yards and two touchdowns.
