WVU Women’s Basketball Posted Another Dominating Performance, Beating High Point 89-54
A day known as “Black Friday” was full of bright spots Mark Kellogg’s WVU women’s basketball team. The Mountaineers added another dominating performance to their resume on Friday afternoon, beating High Point 89-54.
West Virginia, who entered the day ranked as the No. 12 team in the nation, won every single quarter once again. And after some sluggish opening quarters this season, WVU took the first session by a commanding score of 22-7.
WVU was even able to maintain such a big advantage throughout the game despite going just 2-of-14 from three.
JJ Quinerly led the way, scoring 22 points. But it wasn’t just about Quinerly, as three different Mountaineers surpassed double-digits in points. Thomas earned a double-double, producing 18 points off the bench while also crashing the glass for 10 rebounds. Jordan Harrison even scored 13 of her own.

With the win, West Virginia remains unbeaten at now 7-0. And while the Mountaineers entered the game as the clear favorite over a now 2-4 High Point squad, they also did everything imaginable to impress the voters and likely climb up the rankings even more, possibly now cracking the top 10.
Up next for Kellogg’s WVU women’s basketball team as far as their normal schedule is a date with East Tennessee State (3-4) on Dec. 6 and then a matchup with Temple (3-3) before opening up Big 12 play at Colorado (6-1) on Dec. 21.
