Despite being nominated for the hall each of the last four years, Huggins has still not been selected for enshrinement. Huggins, in his 14th season coaching the Mountaineers, is sitting at 899 wins, one away from joining the exclusive 900-win club. He is fourth in career wins among active head coaches, trailing only Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, Jim Boeheim of Syracuse and North Carolina’s Roy Williams.
Huggins has made the Final Four twice in his 39-year coaching career, with Cincinnatti in 1986 and with West Virginia in 2010. He has a .703 career winning percentage with only four losing seasons, ever.
