MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – With his 27-point performance on Saturday, West Virginia guard Malik Curry eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in his Division-I basketball career.

Curry needed 26 points heading into the Texas game, but came out with 27. Curry has spent one season with the Mountaineers after spending two years at Old Dominion, playing under head coach Jeff Jones. The Delaware native scored 743 points from 2019-21 playing for the Monarchs. In his fifth-year in the NCAA, Curry has scored 258 points in 28 games with West Virginia.

“Malik has been really good for us,” WVU head coach Bob Huggins said on Friday.
