Solid depth at the position and a commitment for next year’s class doesn’t mean West Virginia is done at trying to secure the future of the quarterback position.

To that end, West Virginia extended an offer to a 4-star quarterback recruit in the 2024 class. Maj Jones announced he’s received an offer from WVU late Thursday night.

Jones is a junior at the renowned St. Joe’s Prep in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He lists himself at 6’1 and 200 pounds in his Twitter bio. 247 Sports table Jones as the 40th best quarterback in the country and the 17th best player in Pennsylvania.

“I believe that, if you play the quarterback position, you have to know everybody’s job on the field, and you have to be able to do everything that is asked of you by the coach,” Jones told our sister site Nittany Sports Now in an interview back in June after receiving an offer from Penn State. “I pride myself on being able to coach everything that we do on the field,” he added.
