2025 five-star G Jasper Johnson has narrowed his school selection to 10 programs, including West Virginia, he told On3 Sports. Johnson is a consensus top-15 player in his class.

Johnson (6-foot-4) is also considering Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri, North Carolina and USC. Johnson is currently playing at Link Academy in Missouri and is originally from Lexington, Ky.

Johnson officially visited WVU back in September during the Texas Tech football game. WVU’s staff offered Johnson in February 2023 and interim HC Josh Eilert made direct contact with the 2025 recruit in June.

Johnson received offers from Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Cal, Cal State Bakersfield, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, Florida State, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Memphis, Missouri, Ohio, Ohio State, Radford, Texas A&M, West Virginia and others.

WVU currently has one commitment for the class of 2024 with G Carmelo Adkins. Adkins is a three-star guard who currently plays for Diamond Doves in Overtime Elite’s league.

Adkins (6-foot-5) is a combo guard originally from Keller, Texas. Adkins has received offers from Bryant, Holy Cross and West Virginia. Adkins reclassified from 2023 to 2024 for his postgraduate year. Adkins committed to West Virginia on Nov. 2, while also understanding the position the current coaching staff is in.

“It sucks knowing that they are in that position right now, but I’m very positive that they’ll be back to coach me next year,” Adkins said. “Obviously it was a risk but I’m a risk taker.”

WV Sports Now will provide updates on Johnson’s recruitment.
