Best Virginia will take on the top-seeded Elite Nation in the West Virginia Regional Final at 7 p.m on Tuesday at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.

The WVU alumni squad most recently topped Herd That Sunday 82-75 after defeating Dubois Dream 72-69 in the first round.

Elite Nation received a first-round bye in the tournament and defeated the Court Street Kings 88-85 in its first game.

Head Coach Jarrod West Sr. commended Elite Nation, emphasizing physicality and execution ahead of the matchup in Sunday’s postgame press conference.

“They have good guards, good bigs. It’s gonna be a dog fight,” West said. “Hopefully our pressure can kind of speed them up, but we’re gonna execute, and we gotta have to be physical.”

For Best Virginia, James Reese V has been a steady leader at the guard position. He leads the team in points per game with 20.5 and is fifth in points scored for the 2025 TBT.

Former WVU teammates Keddy Johnson and Tre Mitchell sparked WVU in the win over Herd That, as Mitchell had a team-high 21 points while Johnson had 18. Mitchell also hit the Elam Ender to give Best Virginia the win over Herd That.

JD Weatherspoon was crucial for Best Virginia Sunday, as he finished with a team-high 14 rebounds and added 10 points off the bench. His dominant post performance marked his first game in this season’s TBT.

The winner of Tuesday’s game will advance to the TBT quarterfinals on July 27 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
