On Friday morning, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi released his most recent update for bracketology. Lunardi has West Virginia in the “Last Four In” category, playing against San Diego State in Dayton, Ohio.

WVU’s Projected Region

1. Baylor

16. Colgate

8. BYU

9. Miami

5. LSU

12. San Diego State / West Virginia

4. Wisconsin

13. Chattanooga

6. Marquette

11. Murray State

3. Kentucky

14. Princeton

7. Iowa

10. Saint Mary’s

2. Arizona

15. Weber State

If West Virginia wins the First Four matchup, they would go on to enter the 64-team tournament field, playing No. 5 LSU, in Pittsburgh. Not a good at-large seed to have, but great location to WVU fans to travel to. If West Virginia falls to Arkansas on Saturday, expect the Mountaineers to drop from the projected tournament field from Lunardi.

Big 12 Seeds

Baylor – 1 Seed

Kansas – 1 Seed

Texas Tech – 4 Seed

Iowa State – 7 Seed

Texas – 7 Seed

Oklahoma – 9 Seed

TCU – 11 Seed

West Virginia – 12 Seed / Last Four In
