Brooklyn Nets Waive Former WVU Guard Jevon Carter
As first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, former West Virginia guard Jevon Carter was waived by the Brooklyn Nets on Monday afternoon. Carter was cut to clear a roster spot for recently acquired Goran Dragic, who the Nets signed earlier.

Carter spent the 2021-22 season with the Nets after being traded on draft day back in July. The 6-foot-1 guard played 46 games with Brooklyn, averaging 3.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists. Carter has played with the Memphis Grizzlies (2018-19) and the Phoenix Suns (2019-21). The four-year NBA veteran will hit free agency as he awaits his next NBA team.
Carter played at West Virginia under head coach Bob Huggins from 2014-18, helping the Mountaineers reach 3-Sweet 16’s in 2015, 2017 and 2018. The all-time steals leader at WVU averaged 12.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.3 steals in 144 career games.
