Report: Jevon Carter to Sign With Milwaukee Bucks

After just a day on the waiver wire, former West Virginia guard Jevon Carter is reportedly going to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks. This was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Carter was cut by the Brooklyn Nets on Monday afternoon to make room for the recently acquired Goran Dragic.

Wojnarowski reported that Carter will clear waivers on Wednesday.

Carter spent the 2021-22 season with the Nets after being traded on draft day back in July. The 6-foot-1 guard played 46 games with Brooklyn, averaging 3.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists. Carter has played with the Memphis Grizzlies (2018-19) and the Phoenix Suns (2019-21). The four-year NBA veteran will now join the defending NBA Champions.

Carter played at West Virginia under head coach Bob Huggins from 2014-18, helping the Mountaineers reach 3-Sweet 16’s in 2015, 2017 and 2018. The all-time steals leader at WVU averaged 12.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.3 steals in 144 career games.
