In 2025, he recorded 84 total tackles, 45 solo stops, four pass deflections, a sack, and a pair of forced fumbles and fumble recoveries. He posted 11 tackles in 2024 with the Sun Devils, providing some brief Big 12 experience, and made 40 tackles in two years with the Gators in the SEC. Wilson was a four-star prospect out of high school.
Cornerback Andrew Powdrell, who also announced his decision on the seventh, joins WVU after spending the 2025 season with UNLV.
Listed at 5-foot-10 and 185-pounds, Powdrell started all 14 games for UNLV in 2025. He recorded 63 tackles and 5 pass breakups. Prior to UNLV, Powdrell spent two seasons at Montana State.
Powdrell decided to commit to West Virginia only a few days after entering the transfer portal and following his official visit to Morgantown.
The offense gained some strength and production as well.
Wyoming interior offensive line transfer Wes King will head to West Virginia, signing Sunday after committing on Jan. 8. The 6-foot-5, 313-pounder started 12 games for Wyoming in 2025 and has 33 stars under his belt in total.
And last, but certainly not least, Cam Cook is officially a Mountaineer and among the headliners of the transfer class.
The nationโs leading rusher committed to WVU after finishing up an official visit on Jan. 6.
Cook (5-foot-11 and 200 pounds) will now bring his talents to West Virginia after an historic 2025 season with Jacksonville State.
He ran for 1,659 yards on 295 carries for an average of 5.6 yards per touch. Cook score 16 touchdowns and also added 30 receptions and 296 yards as a receiver. His total came without even playing in the Gamecocksโ bowl game. Cook was named Conference USA Player of the Year and to multiple major All-American teams.
A source also told WV Sports Now that his previously scheduled visit with Tennessee was canceled. The reports that he visited Tennessee are inaccurate. No Tennessee visit took place and heโs going to be a Mountaineer.ย
Helping his transition from Conference USA, Cook is already familiar with the Big 12. Prior to transferring to Jacksonville State, Cook spent two years at TCU and totaled 608 yards and nine touchdowns off 135 rushing attempts with the Horned Frogs.
