Cameron Dwyer Brings Trust to Defense | WVU Football All 105
All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2026 WVU Football Roster.
The Mountaineers have plenty of depth at middle linebacker this season and, while that might mean that true freshman Cameron Dwyer won’t see much playing time, it also puts him in a favorable situation to develop. The 6-foot tall, 212-pound three-star committed to West Virginia along with his high school teammate Antoine Sharp Jr., giving the Mountaineers a duo of the future with plenty of experience playing together.
That’s an advantage for Mountaineers fans to get excited about, especially because of the importance of communication: middle linebackers are often called upon to serve as the quarterback of the defense, relaying play calls and making sure everyone lines up properly.
Dwyer amassed 104 tackles, an interception, eight tackles for loss and four sacks across the last two seasons of his high school career, doing a little bit of everything as his position demands. He committed to West Virginia in April 2025 and never looked back.
