Carter Zuliani a Cheat Code at Tight End | WVU Football All 105
All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.
Although Carter Zuliani earned First-Team All-State honors on the defensive line during his time in high school, WVU’s coaching staff likes the 6-foot-6, 254 pound incoming freshman more as a tight end.
A native of Bridgeport, W.Va., Zuliani also played basketball in high school, and helped his team win state championships on both the gridiron and the hardwood last season.
Although head coach Rich Rodriguez didn’t incorporate tight ends into the passing game much during his first stint with the Mountaineers, he says he’s open to the idea this season. A tall, athletic target like Zuliani could help change Rodriguez’s mind for good.

Last year: N/A
Stats: N/A
Post-camp outlook: The Mountaineers have veteran talents at tight end like Grayson Barnes who are likely to pick up major playing time. Zuliani’s defensive experience could help him find a role on special teams.
Projected role: If Rodriguez is serious about burning through redshirt years in the era of the transfer portal, Zuliani will play in at least five games this season… perhaps as a reserve or on special teams.
Accolades, highlights: Zuliani played on both sides of the ball in high school, picking up AAA First-Team All-State honors on the defensive line.
