CB Rayshawn Reynolds Jr. Built for the Perimeter | WVU Football All 105
All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2026 WVU Football Roster.
The Mountaineers have developed a pipeline from JUCO powerhouses like Hutchinson Community College during Rich Rodriguez’s second stint as head coach, and redshirt junior cornerback Rayshawn Reynolds Jr. is one of the latest athletes to follow that path. Checking in at 6-foot-3 and 188 pounds, Reynolds has outstanding length for a cornerback, which should help him go blow for blow with the tallest receivers opposing teams have to throw at the Mountaineers.
Even though he started at Hutchinson amidst a run to the NJCAA national championship game, Reynolds will need to prove he can make a smooth transition from community college to Power Four football. However, of the 11 players listed at cornerback on the WVU Football roster, two come from JUCO programs; three more are true freshmen, while Jayden Bell is a former preferred walk-on.
With the potential for as many as four corners on the field at a given time, Reynolds should have a chance to prove himself this season in a room with plenty of question marks.
24 • Rayshawn Reynolds Jr., redshirt junior cornerback
Last Year: Reynolds played at Hutchinson Community College in 2025, showing a nose for the football in a run to the JUCO national championship game.
Stats: 29 tackles, two interceptions, two tackles for loss and 13 pass breakups across 18 career junior college games.
Post-Camp Outlook: Reynolds’ size jumps off the page. He’s tied with three other players for the tallest member of the Mountaineers’ secondary, and if he has the speed to stick with Power Four receivers, that size will put him on the short list to start.
Projected Role: In a secondary full of question marks, expect Reynolds to compete for a starting role in 2026.
Accolades, Highlights: Reynolds earned a three-star mark from 247Sports on a rating scale dedicated to former JUCO athletes.
