Chase Wilson Fits with Mountaineers in Final Season | WVU Football All 105
All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.
Chase Wilson’s college career took three years to get off the ground. After a redshirt season during the COVID-altered 2020 campaign, Wilson suffered a season-ending injury just three games into 2021. He eased his way into the lineup the following season, then broke out for a pair of All-Mountain West Second-Team performances.
A Colorado State Ram for his first five seasons in college, Wilson will conclude his Division I career with WVU Football. A 6-foot-1, 230 pound tackling machine at inside linebacker, Wilson should serve as one of the Mountaineers’ top players at the position alongside fellow transfer Ben Bogle.
30 • Chase Wilson, redshirt senior linebacker
Last year: Wilson earned All-Mountain West Second-Team honors for his performance at Colorado State.
Stats: 98 tackles, three tackles for loss, two interceptions and two pass breakups in 2024.
Post-camp outlook: Receiver is one of the Mountaineers’ deepest position groups.
Projected role: Depending on what personnel package new defensive coordinator Zac Alley decides to prioritize, one or both of Wilson and Ben Bogle should start at middle linebacker this season.
Accolades, highlights: During the past two seasons at Colorado State, Wilson landed on the All-Mountain West Second-Team twice.
