A few weeks ago, it was announced that WVU Sports Hall of Famer Da’Sean Butler joined an NBA G-League team for an assistant coaching job.

On Sunday, it was announced by the Final Fourcast that Butler will be joining the College Park Skyhawks for the 2021-22 season. Butler will be apart of the Atlanta Hawks organization.

At WVU, Butler appeared in 146 games for the Mountaineers, winning a program-record 107 games. The Newark, New Jersey, native ranks third all-time in scoring at West Virginia with 2,095 points, behind Jerry West (2,309) and “Hot Rod” Hundley (2,180).

Butler was coached under John Beilein and Bob Huggins during his four seasons from 2007-10. The 6-foot-7 guard contributed to an NIT Championship in 2007, a Sweet 16 in 2008 and a Final Four appearance in 2010.

Butler will make his NBA G-League coaching debut on Nov. 5 when the College Park Skyhawks take on the Maine Celtics.
