Dynamic Athlete ChaMarryus Bomar | WVU Football All 105

All 105 is a West Virginia Sports Now series profiling each member of the 2025 WVU Football Roster.
Billed as a three-star recruit out of high school, freshman defensive back Cha’Marryus Bomar earned an ‘ATH’ label in recruiting because of his potential to play on both sides of the ball.
WVU Football signed him at defensive back, putting that debate to rest, but his skill with the ball in his hands remains evident. Bomar scored four return touchdowns as a senior, two off of interceptions and one apiece on punt and kick returns… and that’s not even the tip of the iceberg.
He also hauled in 49 passes for 1,239 yards and 18 touchdowns, providing West Virginia with a splash play threat any time opposing quarterbacks decide to throw his way.
At 5-foot-10 and 177 pounds, Bomar has the speed and agility to both star in the return game and tail opposing wide receivers. As a bonus, Bomar’s brother is fellow three-star recruit Armoni Weaver, is another member of the Mountaineers’ 2025 class.

Camp outlook: Many regard defensive back as one of the most difficult positions in the sport, so expect a learning curve (whether in practice or on the field) as Bomar acclimates to the college game.
Projected role: Thanks to his home run potential with the ball in his hands, Bomar could make it on the field through special teams as a freshman, whether giving him a taste of the game during a redshirt year or in a full season.
Accolades, highlights: A three-star recruit out of South Carolina’s Westside High School, major recruiting services like ESPN, Rivals and On3 all ranked Bomar among the top 40 ATHs in the country for his class.
