For The Analytic Folks, KenPom Releases WVU’s Ranking

After an anticipated annual release, college basketball statistician Ken Pomery released his rankings for the 2021-22 season.

Pomery’s computer database has West Virginia ranked at No. 46. The Mountaineers’ adjusted offense comes in at No. 40 and the adjusted defense is at No. 46.

For comparison, WVU finished No. 23 in the final rankings from last season.

No. 3 – Kansas
No. 4 – Baylor
No. 12 – Texas Tech
No. 14 – Texas
No. 37 – Oklahoma State
No. 46 – West Virginia
No. 52 – Oklahoma
No. 75 – TCU
No. 82 – Kansas State
No. 113 – Iowa State

Pomery will update the rankings daily throughout the season.
